A Culinary Adventure

I decided to offer one more I73/85 loop adventure before going on to other areas of Guilford County.  There really are a lot of amazing culinary opportunities in the Wendover/Hwy 68 (Eastchester) area.  Just a few of the offerings are: Italian, Greek, Mexican, Thai, Sushi, Indian, and I can not forget to mention frozen yogurt.  There are many more, however those are just a few, please make a point to visit this part of Guilford County and check out everything available.

One of my favorite places in this area is The Vino Shoppe, located at 1500 Tinsley Drive, High Point, NC.  The owners Tish and David Miceli have always loved wine and had a dream of opening a small wine shop when they retired, however favorable situations were presented to them earlier than expected and they could not turn down the opportunity to provide one of the most unique and comfortable places around to enjoy a good bottle of wine at a great price.  Tish and David visited several small wine shops and took the best ideas of each into consideration.  They started off small and took one step at a time to develop what a lot of us have come to know as The Vino Shoppe.

You can also visit the website at thevinoshoppe.com.  The owners Tish and David Miceli do a great job of offering reasonably priced wine tastings, which gives you the opportunity to try something new.  There is also live music on some weekend nights as well as wine classes where you can learn more about the wines you love or maybe even discover a new favorite.

When you first enter The Vino Shoppe it might appear small in size, however the hospitality of Tish and David is much larger than the space.  The Vino Shoppe has an excellent selection of wine in all price levels, and the owners are always excited to help you find that perfect bottle for a special occasion or even for a quite evening at home.

My friends and I have grown to enjoy The Vino Shoppe and even think of it as an extension to our homes.  It is nice to visit the shoppe, taste something new and then sit back on one of the sofas and relax while enjoying the company of friends new and old over a glass of what ever tasty beverage caught the attention of your taste buds.

I recently celebrated my birthday at The Vino Shoppe.  It was nice to just show up, greet friends as they arrived, and then show them to the bar where Tish and David helped each one find a wine or in some cases a beer to their liking.  The owners are truly the ultimate hosts giving you the impression that you are visiting them at home instead of a retail establishment.  And, David does an excellent job of keeping your glass full and the smiles brightly shining.

The Vino Shoppe also offers some light appetizer plates or you are welcome to order food from one of the near-by restaurants to enjoy with your wine.

So, the next time you are looking for a culinary adventure, a place to make some new friends or hang out with some existing friends, or maybe even a place for your next casual date, drop by The Vino Shoppe for a glass of something new or enjoy a bottle of a past favorite.

Go ahead, get out there and have a culinary adventure of your own.  And, as Tish would say “Don’t be intimidated by wine, try new things”.

Enjoy!
